The BEST ST. PAtRICK’s Day FiLM – “The QUIET MAN”

(1952) Amazing film that combines traditional Irish marital courting with the chemistry that makes a lifetime bond work. Another stellar movie to thank director John Ford for who is best known for his westerns, but filmed so much more, from classic interpretations of novels like “The Grapes of Wrath” to the military themed “Sergeant York”. (Ford himself was a naval officer.) The winner of five academy awards, four for best director, he gifts us with this tonight and always. Starring: John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara, Barry Fitzgerald, Ward Bond and Victor McLaglen.
