(1952) Amazing film that combines traditional Irish marital courting with the chemistry that makes a lifetime bond work. Another stellar movie to thank director John Ford for who is best known for his westerns, but filmed so much more, from classic interpretations of novels like “The Grapes of Wrath” to the military themed “Sergeant York”. (Ford himself was a naval officer.) The winner of five academy awards, four for best director, he gifts us with this tonight and always. Starring: John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara, Barry Fitzgerald, Ward Bond and Victor McLaglen.

Upcoming FilM POSts
Written by Juliana Simone
I have a draft folder with so many nearly-finished articles about film, I’ve told a published writer friend of mine I was leaving it to him if I died first. Like many, I’ve watched movies intently and have much to say about these productions. At this time, I’m going to catch up on my views about classics, genres, actor/actresses, writers, directors, cinematography and the audience that perceives this artistry whether as a film enthusiast, expert or standard viewer.
Vote For PReSIDENT TRUMP – tHE Whys are long
Written by Juliana Simone
November 2, 2020
For viewers watching CNN, which is the only American news channel shown throughout Europe and many other parts of the globe, or those watching any network affiliate on their local stations every night, people viewing these broadcasts would only perceive President Donald J. Trump, the 45th President of the United States, as a man who has no good qualities, and as a man who did nothing productive throughout his entire first term except perform some illegal activities. Even children are subjected to this messaging, whether through certain teachers at their schools or literature handed out to them which makes them believe our President is a bad person they should not respect in any way or vote for if nearing voting age. It’s a sad misuse of commentary whether public through media leverage and distribution, or private through unobserved classrooms throughout the education system K-12 and beyond.
The exact opposite is true from what these people with their anti-Trump agenda proclaim.
Donald J. Trump is one of the finest Presidents of the United States ever elected – and some scholars argue, perhaps the best. This analysis is based on how much he has achieved in almost four years; how many promises he has kept when seeking office as a candidate; how hard he pushed forward with continual attacks and false narratives against him on a daily basis from the press, the opposing Democrat party and the never-Trumpers. He was even impeached on totally bogus grounds bought and paid for by his former opponent in 2016, who was (and is) guilty of much more.
The huge appearances of United States citizens appearing at his nationwide rallies demonstrate how educated American voters are on all of these facts and so much more, as the tentacles run deep. Shouts of “We love you” are a new rally chant to let President Trump know how firmly our country stands behind him. His opponent on his best day had three hundred cars show up in a parking lot to beep their horns when he made an attempt at simulating a Trump event. Interestingly, attendees and objective reporters noted the horns only beeped when his opponent made an anti-Trump comment – not when he talked about proposed policy.
The vote for the left ticket, is only about the people who writers have deemed those with “Trump derangement syndrome” in that their unexplainable hatred for the sitting President exceeds any logic or acknowledgement of his accomplishments. Going into the final hours before Election Day, November 3rd, 2020, the left Democrat mantra has little to run on so they’ve chosen two talking points: Trump is responsible for the Coronavirus and Trump is a racist.
Sad. Neither is true, of course. COVID-19 came out of Wuhan, China and Trump immediately took the right steps to keep the virus from spreading worse here in America. His opponent at the time of Trump’s decision called him a xenophobe for this act. Trump being called a racist is really baseless with the left organized mainstream media reiterating to death, the tired claim that the President never said he was against white supremacy groups, and that he called felons from Mexico bringing their crime into the United States the reason we needed to build a wall.
The President made the right actions. Stop air travel from China and later parts of Europe to keep the Coronavirus from coming into our country, and stop gang members and criminals from Mexico coming into our country who would not abide by our laws and wreak their havoc here. Good decisions.
The list is long as to why President Donald J. Trump should be reelected for four years.
I’ll list a few most readers here would know: Supreme Court Justices appointed; lowest unemployment rate among all groups before the virus hit – and is now resounding back; tax cuts that made families, small businesses and corporations thrive resulting in a booming economy including eliminating obsolete burdensome regulations; taking business out of China and returning it to America; rebuilding our military that when he assumed Office was a dismal shell; returning health insurance from mandated Obamacare to consumer choice and lowering prescription drug cost; recognizing Israel’s Capitol Jerusalem and his Middle East Peace Treaty; making clean fossil fuel affordable to all Americans with record low prices; dissolving the ISIS Caliphate; renewing the Nation’s commitment to space exploration while also adding the Space Force, a new branch of the military directly assigned for defense; negotiating trade deals that created thousands of jobs in the U.S. and increased exports, the exceptional Republican National Convention that showed winning speakers with no stereotypical view of who understands Republicans and who votes for them, and the amazing First Lady given zero credit by females on the left, among many other things.
The list is long! Look it up on an unscrubbed search engine, uncensored social media network or objective website if you need more reasons to vote in our patriotic 45th President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump.

Town Hall Debates – A Sabotage VS. A Conversation
October 15, 2020
Like most viewers that are knowledgeable about politics on a daily basis, I expected tonight’s interviews given to President Donald J. Trump and former Vice President and Democrat Party Nominee, Joe Biden, to be hardball vs. softball. Trumps questions – hardball; Biden’s questions – softball. The results were worse than anyone could imagine. All of the questions were a complete retread of the lefts tired talking points for the President, which have all been answered by Trump a multitude of times and have no bearing.
The shrill NBC broadcaster given tonight’s assignment, Savannah Guthrie, was chomping at the bit to ask absurd questions, glibly interrupt and in her own mind seemed to believe she knew more than the President. She was a complete embarrassment for the left. Guthrie had complete disrespect for a sitting President, who has immense popularity that proves the mainstream medias ignorance in recognizing this status.
All questions were clearly written before the televised event, for both the voters selected to ask President Trump a question, and for Guthrie. Guthrie did try to rebut Trump off her cards, but this breach only showed her partisanship.
Bizarrely, within the first ten/fifteen minutes of the televised program, she showcased questions which included sexual pedophilia that she masked just for the words to be transcribed. Ms. Guthrie, you’re talking to the wrong Party Candidate. (This is all Democrat scandal – look up Jeffrey Epstein and all who willingly went to his private island to have sex with under aged girls; Huge Clinton Fundraisers and their close relationship with contributor Harvey Weinstein – I just realized writing this paragraph the list is too long to post now. ) Regardless, I can’t imagine network personnel asking any sitting President any questions of this kind – if so, they certainly could have asked President John F. Kennedy many similar queries.
Trump did his best to be polite to the blatantly partisan interrogator, who could be called many other words, but I’ll let the people decide as I’m sure they’ve already come to the same conclusion. Another premeditated hit job by the left that wastes President Trump’s time, as well as American voters.
Moving on to the Biden town hall interview. Out of curiosity, I tuned in when Trump’s broadcast went to advertisements, and briefly afterwards. At least it wasn’t as bad as where interviewer Barbara Walters back in the day, Biden would be asked what tree he would be if he could be a tree – or what his favorite color was – or what his favorite toppings on a pizza were – but, there was no discussion of any serious scandal relevant in the news currently. He continued to vacillate on fracking emphasizing it needed to be “managed very very well” and said he would finally give his answer on whether or not he would pack the Supreme Court after the Senate results on Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination.
There were no questions about former Vice President Biden’s son Hunter, and the big current news story from the New York Post, which is being censored by social media icons, which details the incriminating emails and video found on a computer left at a store for repair. The store’s consumer agreement made clear that if any computer was not picked up after 90 days, it would become their property.
Whether it was Hunter himself who left it at this shop, an aide or friend, no one returned for it, so the owner of the store kept it. Seeing what was on the hard drive, he turned it in to Rudy Giuliani or one of his staff. If this had been turned into the New York Times, no one would have ever seen this data.
Voters need to realize whenever President Trump is in a debate on national television hosted by a major network, the moderator will be a democrat holding loaded questions that have little to do with truth and much to do with alienating Trump voters for the purpose of electing the addled former VP Biden. Biden, as well as running mate Harris, another story for another day, will only be given easy Q and A’s with no real journalism behind them to find out the real truth.
President Trump Gets Out of the Paris Accord
Written by Juliana Simone
This afternoon, President Donald J. Trump announced in the Rose Garden at the White House that the United States of America will be withdrawing from the Paris Accord. The agreement between 195 countries made in 2015 was to focus on ‘global warming’ and the effects that are believed to cause this among climate change advocates.
Under the preceding President’s authority, Barack Obama, America joined the Accord without a vote in Congress, which means President Trump can now get out of the agreement without a vote in Congress.
“We will start to negotiate and see if we can get a deal that’s fair. If we can’t that’s fine,” Trump said in his speech.
The President pointed out this deal leaves America and its workers at a disadvantage and holds it to an economic burden which amounts to a vast fortune. Trump said he cares deeply about the environment but this deal punishes the United States and allows some of the country’s biggest offenders to do whatever they wish.
Noting this blocks the development of clean coal in America, China and India would both be allowed to open multiple new plants, killing jobs and progress in the United States while granting these things to competitors. This agreement would make it very difficult to compete with the rest of the world, Trump said in his important speech.
President Trump declared his job was to “protect our country and our taxpayers.” He told the press and viewers that we won’t be closing up our factories or losing our jobs to give unfair economic advantages to others in the accord. He said the responsibilities need to be shared equally around the world and this ties up and bounds our country. “Until we do that, we’re out of the agreement,” he affirmed. “This is not going to happen while I’m President,” he assured. He remarked how the United States of America has the highest standard of environmental protection.
Keeping another campaign promise to “Make America Great Again”, this decision was met with great enthusiasm by his millions of supporters in the U.S. and around the world, as well as America’s workers who would be greatly affected if the United States remained in this treaty as written.
There is debate as to the technicality of when America can actually withdraw from the accord, which varies from one to three years and whether it involves withdrawal from the United Nations Climate Program, as well.

“CONSERVATIVE CHAT” CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE MATTHEW COREY (CT-1) ONLINE LINK
Written by Juliana Simone
“Conservative Chat” – a show brought to the public from the Barkhamsted Republican Town Committee which airs in six local district towns, Thursdays at 7PM, on Charter cable channel 191, is uplinked online the following week of the original broadcast, at http://www.ctv13.net
This latest episode features First Congressional Republican candidate, Matthew Corey, as he challenges the entrenched democrat opponent, who has been in Washington since 1999.
Mr. Larson, is still perceived by some voters as a moderate democrat, but he left that group far behind many terms ago. A higher up in his caucus leadership, he has been in lockstep with liberal, Nancy Pelosi (CA-12 ), both when she had the title of House Majority Leader and now House Minority Leader.
In this latest program, Corey and Simone talk about the many issues the democrat’s under President Obama’s two terms, that have harmed our country, our military, our values and overall view of America across the world – from both our allies and enemies.
Candidate Matthew Corey, a hard working small business owner who has invested in Hartford, owns both a skyscraper window cleaning business and a tavern. Clear on policy, he makes many comments in this show that cover everything from the failed program of Obamacare, the immense national debt the Connecticut federal democrat incumbents never address, the excessive taxation the democrats have also burdened our citizens with on whatever income level, and Donald Trump, and what in his view, are his best policy plans if elected.
This program will repeat on Thursday, 9/22/16 at 7PM Charter cable 191. For those not in the viewing area, this program can be seen online: on www.ctv13.net –https://communityaccesstv.viebit.com/vod/?v=WPoSvM0AP01E&s=false
Archives: On the Street Interview with Elizabeth Esty
May 5, 2013
Kent, CT – Elizabeth Esty is asked about controversial campaign donations and her views on the second amendment.
Ameriborn News Exclusive Interview with U.S. Rep. Elizabeth Esty
Written by Juliana Simone
Kent, CT – Connecticut’s Fifth Congressional District Congresswoman Elizabeth Esty (D-5) who took over this formerly held seat by her fellow party member Connecticut U.S. Senator Chris Murphy after the 2012 elections, was speaking to a small circle of constituents in Litchfield County about some of the issues that came up this Saturday afternoon on her “Congress in Your Corner” tour. A beautiful May afternoon allowed the United States Representative to stay and mingle with a handful of interested constituents who reside in one of the districts forty-one towns.
“I was delighted to see so many people show up today,” she told the group. Congresswoman Esty was pleased there were a variety of topics that were a mix of local, state, federal and environmental issues, among them Bulls Bridge and the Appalachian Trail which are pertinent to the area. In regards to the Appalachian Trail which runs 2,181 miles from Maine to Georgia, concerns about unsupervised swimming where there was a recent fatality, parking, safety and trash were discussed.
The Appalachian Trail is mostly maintained by the National Park Service one Esty and a member of the circle concluded but Esty asserted if the parking spaces were on a state road then this would be a state issue. A man told the Congresswoman the newly created parking spaces were for CL&P so she wondered if this then was deeded land or an easement and concluded that state, local, federal and non-profits will have to figure this out.
Before departing the group, she was asked about Statico, and whether this had been resolved, and U.S. Representative Esty replied she would have to get them an update and reminded them a couple of people had asked about this today in her appearance at the Kent Memorial Library.
With time constraints where the Congresswoman had scheduled to look at local artist paintings before leaving Kent, she excused herself and then gave Ameriborn News Network some of her time. Here is a transcription of the two questions asked of Representative Esty and her responses along with the accompanying video of the interview:
Juliana Simone: Congresswoman, can I ask you a couple of questions?
Rep. Esty: Well, it depends…
Juliana Simone: Well, they’re different subjects but I was just wondering…
Rep. Esty: I’m sorry. You’re with whom?
Juliana Simone: Ameriborn News.
Rep. Esty: Okay.
Juliana Simone: We endorsed you over Donovan in Campaign 2012…(Esty laughs)
Earlier this week, you had to return some campaign donations from Northeast Utilities involving you and your husband (because of him) being the DEEP commissioner in CT…Are you going to return the rest of the individual donations that Jon Lender mentioned in the Courant?
{A toddler rides his scooter between the interviewer and Esty and Esty asks him, “are you going through?” She says, “He’s enjoying his scooter,}
Rep. Esty: Um, No. The NU made a decision it was an (obstruction) but I have worked in the field of energy and environmental issues for a long time. I served well before my husband’s appointment. I served on the Energy and Technology Committee and the folks are aware of my work there…
Juliana Simone: At the House?
Rep. Esty: In the House of Representatives here in the state of Connecticut…and that’s firm support from people over the years in communities and around the country…and a lot of those folks are people elsewhere around the country who are very concerned about having knowledgeable people in Congress who are making national – {ed.: indiscernible} to address these national, and frankly, international concerns.
Juliana Simone: Okay. Thank you. (Rep. Esty nods.)
And, about the death penalty…I know that you’re against the death penalty, so I was wondering, you know, unfortunately, the Fifth Congressional district in Connecticut had two of our most heinous national stories about murder – with Cheshire and the home invasion, and then our Newtown Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy…Now, I know you voted against the death penalty when you were a state representative and that included the Cheshire home invasion gentlemen, and now, if the Sandy Hook shooter…
Rep. Esty: I’m not answering any hypothetical about that, you know?
Juliana Simone: But I was wondering if he didn’t commit suicide, and he was found and convicted would you have voted for the death penalty against him?
Rep. Esty: “I gotta tell you I don’t answer any hypotheticals about that, you know…my job is focused at this point on representing Newtown and all of the citizens of (that) district…and trying to make sensible gun control laws and gun safety laws so that we minimize the risk of any other communities going through what happened in their communities…
and today we had a number of gun owners who came to speak to me and we also had a very good conversation – because there is so much misinformation. Part of the problem right now is there’s a lot of heat but not a lot of light about what’s happening…about we need to have real information about what the safety laws are and what those proposals would do…and I think if people look at them they’ll see how sensible they are and how important it is to get this done, to save the lives of children every day…
and police officers every day are just making sure that all of the law abiding gun owners are going through background checks, too…and so does everybody else…so they can’t choose to avoid going through a background check…which is what allow right now…and that’s just bullsh*t…”
The press liaison for Congresswoman Esty interjected there was no more time as she had to go view the paintings of the local artists.
The follow up question to Rep. Esty given more time would have asked about all of the gun owners who aren’t law abiding and do not go through background checks to acquire their weapons but hopefully both our state and federal legislators will include this issue in their future discussions, proposals and legislation.
What the New Hampshire Results Mean – Why Trump and Sanders Led Their Field
Governor Christie and Businesswoman Carly Fiorina suspend campaigns in the aftermath
Written by Juliana Simone
New Hampshire –
“Republican’s win when people are demoralized and turnout is low.”
This is the view of the twenty-somethings give or take a few years who primarily support Vermont U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders, who won the New Hampshire caucus with 60.4% of the votes and 15 delegates. Other statements made by Sanders in his speech after being pronounced the winner of the Democrat caucus were: “Now it’s Wall Street’s time to help the middle class” after which he rambled on for a lengthy thirty minutes reiterating his usual talking points of unfair income distribution, raising taxes on the rich, and free this and free that for all.
Ironically, what Sanders fails to see in his vision of America today, is how the people became demoralized and why now a Republican would win. As a sitting U.S. Senator, he somehow does not see Americans have slipped into this negative state of mind after seven years of President Barack H. Obama, and living with the “change” Obama promised if elected in 2008, is change they now see for the worse not the better. This Democrat President has been a virtual wrecking ball to the country most Americans know, past present and future.
Democrats will say they are not entirely to blame for the mess we’re in right now, noting correctly that the U.S. Congress and the U.S. Senate have Republican majorities, so they are equally at fault. Yes and no. Yes, the Republican leadership has frittered away its advantage by remaining lax in any effort to stop the Democrat agenda, and by failing to support any of their brave and vocal colleagues when they attempted to block bad bills and policies. But, no, Obama had his phone and his pen, as he always liked to remind the people, and when the Republicans didn’t cave, he would just push through his agenda through executive orders.
Former First Lady, New York Senator, and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who expects to be the Democrat Party’s nominee no matter how well her popular challenger does, came in second to Sanders with 38% of the vote and nine delegates out of twenty four. There is a news story being reported about how the New Hampshire delegates will ultimately be awarded to Sanders and Clinton, due to super-delegates votes that move her from nine to fifteen votes. For those familiar with the state party conventions, this portion of the story won’t be new. To read more on this: http://thehill.com/blogs/ballot-box/presidential-races/268935-clinton-likely-to-leave-nh-with-same-number-of-delegates
Barely “winning” the preceding Iowa caucus as she and Sanders basically tied, a series of coin tosses repeatedly called in Clinton’s favor, deemed her the winner of certain precinct delegates. Heading into New Hampshire, with Sanders showing huge leads in the polls, her campaign told the media throughout the day they would be happy if she at least kept Sanders winning percentage in the single-digits.
She was trounced by Senator Sanders by 22 points – an enormous spread. Adding insult to injury, she also failed to win the women’s vote over challenger Sanders. She is expected to do better in South Carolina, the next primary on the calendar, due to what analysts say is her popularity with minorities.
Others too point out that the Clinton’s, long known as a force to be dealt with, will pull out all of the stops now to assure Hillary wins upcoming primaries and the nomination. Behind the scenes in her second attempt to become the first female President of the United States, is her email scandal which apparently is being reviewed quite seriously by the FBI owing to her breach of top secret documents and classified information meant for her-eyes-only while serving as Secretary of State. The mainstream media rarely addresses this growing scandal, and wouldn’t be heard at all were it not for talk-radio and political blogs.
General David Petraeus was forced to resign his position in an earlier case similar to this but not as severe. Petraeus received two years’ probation after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor crime, and paying a hundred thousand dollar fine.
What lies ahead for Hillary Clinton both in terms of her campaign which does not seem to be resonating with voters, and in terms of the email and other scandals, should keep this election season interesting in itself.
What is clear from the New Hampshire results last night, is that voters regardless of party, recognize Washington is broken, a common political phrase for years now. Both men who won big on Tuesday, are considered anti-establishment choices.
Taking the stage as the Republican Party’s winner of the caucus with 35.3%, twenty points above the second place winner, and ten delegates, businessman Donald Trump thanked New Hampshire for the support which brought him this huge win. He also thanked Democrat winner Bernie Sanders for winning on his message that ‘we’re going to give America away.’ Trump said his goal was different – in that he wants to ‘make America great again’.
Trump made it clear he wants to rebuild our military, take care of our veterans, establish strong borders where people can only enter the U.S. legally, build the wall that will keep out illegal migration, and he addressed the drug problem New Hampshire and other states are dealing with in terms of heroin addiction. Other goals Trump announced with his usual use of superlatives that resonates with his voters, were if he’s elected “Obamacare will be gone; Common Core will also be gone.” The second amendment will be upheld under his Presidency, he said. “We’ll knock the hell out of Isis,” he asserted with zeal. “We’ll take care of unemployment…” He reminded people our country is 19 trillion dollars in debt… “We don’t win as a country anymore,” he told supporters and under a Trump Presidency, using his campaign slogan, he proclaimed “We’ll make America great again!” He told everyone he loved them, thanked them and said it was now on to South Carolina for another win.
Ohio Governor John Kasich pumped some life into his otherwise floundering campaign by coming in a surprising second to Mr. Trump with 15.8% and four delegates. One source http://www.lifezette.com/polizette/soros-adviser-gave-200k-to-boost-kasich/?utm_content=bufferb13d7&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=lifezette_buffer reports that a long-time associate of George Soros, Scott Bessent, was the third largest donator to Kasich contributing over two hundred thousand dollars. Kasich’s moderate stances and establishment ties make him stand out to Democrats and donor’s that contribute to both parties, as the Republican who,if elected, would be the easiest to work with – or to use democrat language, would be the most easily manipulated and influenced, unlike some of the other formidable contenders. Bessent has donated to candidates from both parties, 65% to Democrats as well as a few Republicans running in 2016, such as Jeb Bush’s Super Pac and Senator Lindsey Graham, as well as other Republicans in prior elections. But none received anywhere near the amount Kasich did this campaign.
Still, Kasich had a good ground game in New Hampshire holding the most town halls with voters in more intimate venues for Q and A, and made many appearances as a nice guy who left people feeling good about voting for him; money alone didn’t get him to second place. It will be interesting to see if this continues for him in South Carolina and Florida.
Texas Senator Ted Cruz, winner of the Iowa caucus, came in third with New Hampshire voters with 11.7% and three delegates. He also is perceived to be anti-establishment even though he is a sitting Senator in Washington. But this is because he has shown himself to be one of the few elected officials in D.C. who bucks the system and goes against his party’s leadership. In the New Hampshire debate, Cruz summed up his goals if elected President: he would repeal Obamacare, establish a flat tax, and abolish the IRS. His detractors point out he may not be qualified to run for President, having been born in Canada, though his mother was American. Well-known for his debating skills, he doesn’t seem too worried about this topic when it’s been brought up in various venues.
Interestingly, Senator Cruz spent the least amount of money in New Hampshire, and was still able to earn the number three spot, showing that a candidate’s message and appeal can beat the campaign with the largest treasure chest.
It’s worth a small digression here to go over some of the amounts campaigns spent in New Hampshire, according to data given out during Rush Limbaugh’s radio show this afternoon. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush spent thirty-six million dollars and finished in fourth place, with 11.0% over Marco Rubio in fifth with 10.6%, comes out to $1,200. a vote. Governor Christie spent eighteen million and came in sixth around $850. a vote; Governor Kasich spent twelve million to come in second; Rubio spent just over $500. a vote. Trump and Cruz were the most fiscally conservative, Trump spending about $40. a vote and Cruz $20.
Early returns showed Florida Senator Marco Rubio as coming in fourth, but with final tallies recorded, he placed fifth. His mentor and fellow Florida Republican, former Governor Jeb Bush, who appeared to be in fifth until late last night, edged out his protégé after 100% of the polling places have reported today. Each received three delegates. Delegates totaled 23, and after the top five finishes no other candidates received a delegate vote.
Though the two have bantered between each other during some of the debates, it’s not clear what these New Hampshire results show other than Rubio came ahead of Bush in Iowa and behind Bush by a small margin in New Hampshire. Rubio, who gets static for his original participation as one of the ‘Gang of Eight’ immigration legislation, the Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR) Bill, maintains he has now changed his position on this issue, and feels stricter laws need to be passed in regards to illegal immigration.
He points out Bush, in comparison, is much softer on all immigration policies and future goals for those illegally already here and those who want to immigrate to America. Bush does not deny this and steadfastly maintains his initial position that some who have gained illegal entry into the United States, should be allowed to remain here if they meet certain conditions.
Coming in sixth was New Jersey Governor Chris Christie with 7.4%, after spending more time than any other Presidential candidate here and garnering the endorsement of the states oldest newspaper; Christie hoped to do better. The Mainstream Media seemed unusually excited by his poor showing; his results were almost as big a news story last night as Trump and Sanders big wins. Remember it was the Mainstream Media who sought Christie’s demise when he first appeared in polls as being the only Republican potential Presidential candidate that would soundly beat media darling former First Lady, Senator and Secretary of State Democrat Hillary Clinton. Featuring a non-story in the fall of 2013, about a bridge lane closing at commuter time in New Jersey causing traffic jams – dubbed “Bridgegate” – the Main Stream Media made this a top news story for weeks to tarnish the popular Governor’s reputation and bring his polling numbers down.
Cleared in an investigation of the scandal, Christie suffered irreparable harm from the coverage. After calls all night from the media for him to drop out, after his formal announcement suspending his campaign, high-fives must have flied around all the newsrooms across the country. Governor Christie, in his announcement said, “he has no regrets” in terms of his run and he shouldn’t – he would make a fine Attorney General if a Republican is elected this November.
Following his announcement, Carly Fiorina, former Hewlett-Packard CEO whose story about starting out as a receptionist and working all the way up the ladder to be the CEO of one of the largest companies touched many, came in seventh with 4.1%, also announced she was suspending her campaign. She chose to do this on Facebook. In her press release, Carly said, “This campaign was always about citizenship—taking back our country from a political class that only serves the big, the powerful, the wealthy, and the well connected. Election after election, the same empty promises are made and the same poll-tested stump speeches are given, but nothing changes…. While I suspend my candidacy today, I will continue to travel this country and fight for those Americans who refuse to settle for the way things are and a status quo that no longer works for them.”
To young girls and women she said, “Do not let others define you. Do not listen to anyone who says you have to vote a certain way or for a certain candidate because you’re a woman. That is not feminism. Feminism doesn’t shut down conversations or threaten women. It is not about ideology. It is not a weapon to wield against your political opponent. A feminist is a woman who lives the life she chooses and uses all her God-given gifts. And always remember that a leader is not born, but made. Choose leadership.”
The Mainstream Media, in this instance network ABC, which the Fiorina campaign amusingly dubbed “Anybody but Carly” refused to let her partake in the New Hampshire debate. Appeals to the Republican National Party and leadership to help get her on stage apparently went unheeded. The Mainstream Media did their best to keep the only other female running for our highest political office out of view. Those who watched the preliminary debates that took place two or three hours before the prime time debates, all were impressed with Fiorina’s debating skills.
Clear on policy, always with a plan, familiar with all world leaders names and having even met with many of them when working as the CEO for HP, she stood out among her colleagues as someone who was well-researched, focused and quick on her feet. If the United States of America were to have a first-female President in our history voted into office this November, Carly Fiorina would have been a far better choice than the scandal riddled Hillary Clinton, so intent on stressing her gender in order to capture the female vote. The debates between the two women would have been enlightening entertainment and there is little doubt Carly would have run circles around Hillary. Let’s hope there is a cabinet position for this fine lady, under a Republican President.
Last, but certainly not least, in New Hampshire last night, was Dr. Ben Carson with 2.3% of the vote. The media didn’t even mention him in their analysis as results came in, which was the case with Fiorina, as well. Again, they were much more interested in calling for Christie to drop out. Dr. Ben Carson deserves way more respect than what was given him in this run. He is an amazing man with one of the most impressive stories out there in terms of making your life into all that it can be trusting in God, hard work and dedication. Carson says he’s in it until the end. Fine with me.
