Musicians seem to live long or short lives generally. I, for one, among so many fans, am happy to see Isaak on the long list. For those of us who know his music, he is a unique star in the world of recording artists.
It still surprises me today that he is unknown to people regardless of age. He has an impressive portfolio of original songs and has been working hard in the business since the eighties. I myself would not have known who he was if someone in Aspen had not gifted his first two albums in 1990, asking if we had heard his music yet.
His success throughout the nineties brought him to new levels, such as “The Chris Isaak Show” on Showtime, where some of his real life stories were intermixed with actual Silvertone band members and amusing characters. These episodes can be found on YouTube through various contributors.
Career-wise, he also hosted an interview show with fellow musicians, appeared in a few small film roles, and most notably, wrote the soundtrack tune “Wicked Game,” which film director David Lynch used for “Wild at Heart” and became Isaak’s biggest hit. He was recently presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award for Performance by the Americana Honors.

The Grammy-nominated and platinum-selling singer continues to perform in different venues and create new music. Isaak is currently touring Europe for the summer before returning to his home state of California.

Thank you, Chris Isaak, for contributing so much as a musician who still works hard touring across the country and abroad, for your beautiful voice that still hits all the notes, and for your love and live interaction with your fans. Looking forward to your next ten years of excellence.
